I did this last year and only now realized I never put it up. This pic by Eurobeat King is the only one I have on file that I actually liked. Mostly because I always thought Kankurou's face paint and headgear were pretty epic and they're both clear in this pic. The Karasu puppet IS there, but obviously not visible. If you know the character, you know what the rest of the costume looks like so I suppose you aren't missing much, heh heh.
Also, apparently this "deviation" was moved from costumes and is considered "misc" because you can't see all of it. Oooookaaaay. The rest of it is basically a black jumper. The main focus I think is the hat and face paint, but whatever. Just saying so no one thinks I don't know how to categorize or something.
Yeah. I drew the side image of it on pattern paper to get the width and length and assembled it from there. The "ears" were cut out and I put cheese cloth in them to keep them standing up and then sewed them on. I just removed the forehead protector from the headband and sewed it on using the cloth still on the back of it.

Having just recently discovered Naruto and realized how awesome Kankuro was, I've been glancing around the web for good Kankuro cosplays and it seems like everyone gets the facepaint radically wrong. This is far and away the best job I've seen.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
